For starters, do not waste your time and download the Canon Driver update that Eric Root has linked to. The CP900 is not included with that update. With regards to the wireless connection, have you already connected the CP900 to your wireless access point? (also known as wireless router). Page 31 onwards to the CP900 Printer User Guide runs you through the required steps, which is performed via the buttons on the printer - no additional software is required. Once you have the printer connected to your wireless access point you can then use the SELPHY Photo Print application, that you would have installed from the supplied CD, to print images. With regards to wireless printing, is the CP900 showing Infrastructure or Ad Hoc on its LCD? I ask because you can print from iOS in Ad Hoc mode but you need to have the CP900 connected to a wireless access point (router) for printing (known as Infrastructure). As for USB printing, in testing just now, I printed an image in PNG format from Preview without any filter error. If you had any version of the CP900 driver installed on this Mac prior to installing the most recent v6.2 driver, then I would suggest you remove the printer from Print & Scan and then open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Canon and trash the SELPHYCP folder. If you also have a CP folder at this location, trash it also. Then restart your Mac and after logging back in, install the v6.2 driver and see if this lets you add the printer and print. You may have read some users modifying files in /etc/cups/, but with the error you are getting I think it is more related to the Canon files rather than core files.
